There is something special about exploring a destination on two wheels. You get to experience the landscape at your own pace, take in the scenery, and discover things you might otherwise miss. My tour of Rulindo was one such experience, leaving me with memories I would carry long after returning to Kigali.

Rulindo was a joy to explore. Its breathtaking hills, tea plantations, winding roads, and open countryside made the journey memorable. Beyond the scenery, I gained a deeper appreciation of rural life, where nature, agriculture, and culture come together. Every experience added something to my understanding of this beautiful district just north of Kigali.

One of the things I love about the 30 Districts Expedition is the opportunity to discover Rwanda beyond the familiar. Every district has its own character and stories to tell. Exploring Rulindo reminded me that sometimes the greatest pleasure lies not in ticking off attractions but in taking the time to experience a place, learn from it, and appreciate what makes it special.

As I prepared to leave Rulindo and return to Kigali, I reflected on a memorable tour. The experience had been rewarding, and I was already looking forward to the next opportunity to reconnect with the district.

And that opportunity will come through Turning Pages, Afrika Nzuri's reading program. I look forward to revisiting Rulindo again and again during book club sessions, sharing memories and exchanging perspectives as we explore the pages of Rulindo: Through the Eyes of a Domestic Tourist.

My tour of Rulindo may have come to an end, but my bond with the district is just getting started.
