Bugesera is where my curiosity about Rwanda’s rivers and lakes took on a life of its own. What began with following waterways across the district led me to questions about how they were formed, how they connect, and what makes each one different. Alongside these discoveries came encounters with a changing landscape, good food, and places to simply sit back and take it all in. This is a personal look at a Bugesera that has far more to offer than its proximity to Kigali suggests.
